Why “Spending” is the key ingredient of Business Prosperity?
1) Many times we confuse between Investing and Spending. If I were to say they are the same thing, you will think I have lost my mind somewhere. Isn’t it?
2) “Saving” & “Investing” is the mantra for self sufficiency and self independence
3) We have grown up listening and hearing that “Save for a Rainy Day”. Saving is clearly a virtue
4) However “Saving” is very counterintuitive
5) While it is a necessity at a Personal level, it can be a Liability at a Business Level
6) Because a Business Man’s SUCCESS & PROSPERITY is NOT A FUNCTION OF SAVING BUT RATHER a function of SPENDING
7) BECAUSE Spending money in Business is also known as Investing
8) It is important to Segregate or Separate all Investments into Personal and Business
9) Personal Investing is all about Investing in Financial Instruments
10) So what are Financial Instruments?
11) They are nothing other than a conduit or a passage to transport your Money into the hands of another business man about whom you have no idea
12) Your investment becomes the Money for him to spend on his business; on salaries, on rent, on purchases and other bill payments
13) Over a period of time if he succeeds he will return the principal along with interest or capital appreciation as the case may be (debt or equity participation)
14) We are in a manner of speaking such Idiots that we are happy giving our hard earned money to others for their business growth but do not spend our money for the development and prosperity of our own business
15) Are we unsure of our own capabilities? Are we unsure of our own business? What is it? Why are we happy giving money to others to spend in their businesses but are so hesitant to spend on our own business and on ourselves
16) Spending Quality determines Prosperity. Because we call it “Spending” we hesitate. Just change nomenclature and instead of “Spending” call it “Investing” and the clarity will soon dawn upon you
17) When we spend on Employee Salary we can call it “Investment in Man Power”
18) When we spend on buying machinery we may call it “Investment in Machinery”
19) When we spend money on Advertising, we may call it “Investment in Brand Building & Marketing”
20) When we spend on throwing parties, we may call it “Investment in Business Networking”
21) So Spending Money is the other side of the same Coin. If one side is known as “Investing” the other side is known as “Spending”
22) When you Spend on your Business; on your Training ; on your Self Development you may call it “Investing in Self”
23) So the next time you feel uneasy while writing a cheque or making a payment, think a little DEEP and SMILE that you have the confidence to invest in your business, in your profession, in yourself
24) BECAUSE Unless you have the courage to spend the right amount of money for the right things at the right time, you will always be chasing the elusive success and prosperity that you dreamt of
