Colossal Economic Loss

Colossal Economic Loss

What is causing massive economic loss

Why are we destroying the potential that can solve problems faster and better

1) The old World System had divided life between a study period and a work period

2) Till 24 one had to focus on studies

3) After 24 one had to focus on work. These were distinct compartments and never the two were allowed to mix

4) That was fine at one point in time because  studies / learning and degree stayed relevant for decades after one aquired them

5) Today in every 3 to 5 years the winds of change makes our past learning irrelevant

6) Hence the choice to divorce learning / education is no longer an option at any stage of our life

7) Hence the only way to stay relevant and meaningful is by becoming a “Student For Life”

8) So the wall that existed between student period and work period has collapsed like the Wall that had once  divided East and West Germany

9) So if one has to be a Student for Life, then why waste the Power of the Youth for so long as we are doing today. In the name of higher education we are only helping the business of education and not the lives of the youth

10) Exposure to the internet, media and an open society has advanced maturity by several years

11) Today’s 20 year old is as good as yesterday’s 25 year old

12) Hence keeping the youth outside the economy is a collosal opportunity cost that the economy is having to bear

13) Time we rethink this system

14) Induct the youth into the economy as early as possible

15) Perhaps they should start contributing by the age of 18

16) They will as such have to spend time learning because of the Student for Life System which is now a part of everyone’s life

17) Getting the Youth to contribute to the economy at an early age will also have several other benefits

18) Adolescence is that time of life when the mind is very mercurial

19) Idle mind is the devil’s workshop and this is best manifested in several ways in young lives

20) It breeds unwanted vices like Student Politics, Drugs, Smoking, Alcoholism, irresponsible Sex etc. This purely because of Society’s inability to channelize the pent up / suppressed energies of our youth

21) In keeping them away from the economic action for far too long, we are hurting both their lives as well as the Economy as a whole

22) An early start to their careers would also mean that they can start building their Financial Freedom Corpus much earlier

23) This would make them Financially Free by the time they are 35 to 40 and give them a chance to manifest their creativity expressions by doing what they love to do and in the manner they love to do.

(Why deprive them of Financial Freedom. It is their right and the right of every human being to have a period of Financial Freedom awarded to him or her in their lives)

24) The kind of creative energies that can be unleashed by harnesses the massive student energy would hugely benefit the World

25) Every solution that the world is seeking does not require Experience of the Past as the Past is becoming irrelevant faster than ever before

26) So digging into the past to find a solution for the present is perhaps not the most optimum way any longer

27) The youth who indulge in new stuff with great deal of comfort, who are inherently risk takers, who do not carry any past baggage, who are exposed to new technology & adopt them seamlessly are much better poised to solve the larger problems that plague the world today

28) Losing 7 to 10 years of  this massive power of the youth is the biggest blunder we are making

29) An Over haul of the Education System should have taken place at least 10 years ago

30) It is a much delayed exercise and needs massive acceleration

31) Time to set things right, time to wake up and smell the coffee

32) We have the awesome power of the youth that has been massively under utilized

33) Harnessing that force is the key to unlock the solutions that will make the world a better place for one and all

34) Time for the older generation to empower the youth

35) Time for the older generation to integrate the youth into the mainstream

36) Time for the older generation to remove the artificial and meaningless hurdles that somehow delay their integration into the mainstream

37) Let us stop giving undue weight to our experience and wisdom

38) Think of Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and their ilk

39) The common thread that connects them all is they started doing stuff at a very early age

40) They started leading at a very early age and not just working

41) They did stuff that the older generation would not have been able to even comprehend

42) Such is the power locked within the souls of the 18 to 25 year old’s

43) We are all sitting on a treasure trove and are not releasing its awesome potential

44) We are depriving a better world to the youth by delaying their integration into the economy

45) We are using excuses such as wisdom and experience as prerequisites to take on larger responsibilities

46) We have lost the ability to experiment that the youth has in very large quantities

47) Our excuses are a manifestation of our insecurities because somewhere deep down within us, we do not want to let go of our authority

48) There is a better way to coexist which we are not exploring

49) We need to get rid of our Scarcity mindset and quickly without wasting a single moment adopt an Abundant mindset

50) History will otherwise not forgive us and we go down as a selfish and hypocritical generation

51) Time to wake up and smell the coffee

I rest my case
