How to be a Specialist MFD / Advisor
Being Everything to Everyone is being Nothing to Anyone
1) When MFDs start their profession, they are so restless to build their income that they’ll go after any kind of client
2) While it may look ok, this is
actually the opposite of what he or she should be doing
3) That’s because the key to making an impact is understanding people, their challenges, their beliefs and curating optimal solutions
4) To be relevant to your clients is to know who they are and what kind of problems have and most importantly what is their mindset
5) So one should look at occupational niches like Doctors, Corporates, Business men, Working Women, Housewives and so on and so forth
6) Going niche not just will make your work more rewarding but will provide a lot of professional satisfaction because you become a clear problem solver by going deep and extracting the stuff that was causing them pain
7) Because once you find your niche, you’ll make the giant leap from just another MFD to an indispensable partner
8) So find a problem you’re interested in solving, then find a group of people who have that problem
9) For example if you are keen to provide Financial Freedom look at the youth whose Career Spans are shrinking ; who need to manage their cash flows smartly so that they can live a good life all through life
10) You’ll be amazed at how things change when you focus on a couple of niches
11) So don’t delay
12) MFDs may think finding a niche is something that happens by default at some point in time. But unfortunately this is the most incorrect approach
13) The faster you identify your niche segment, the faster
you will transform yourself into an indispensable specialist
14) The longer you wait to
develop a niche, the harder it will be for you to transform yourself from a generalist to a specialist
